The teaching of the research group is characterised by internationality, interdisciplinarity and a close proximity to practice. Through guest contributions from representatives of various research institutions, companies and civil society organisations, students are kept up to date with current developments in the field of microenergy systems. more to: Teachings

Lecture Series

Currently MES organises two different lecture Series. Both cover a wide range of topics in the broad field of energy and development but focus different aspects and areas. more to: Lecture Series

MES Conferences

The MES Conferences are a yearly event hosted to provide participants with a platform where academics, private and public stakeholders, local entrepreneurs and international players can exchange lessons learned and successful experiences, as well as streamlining efforts towards a sustainable and scalable dissemination of decentralized energy supply. more to: MES Conferences


The research group MES is involved in various projects and initiatives both in germany and abroad. Most projects include collaborations with academic institutions and local actors in different developing and emerging countries. more to: Initiatives
