SIGMI 2020 Videos online now!

We started uploading the video recordings of the SIGMI 2020 Conference to our YouTube channel, check them out, to learn more about sustainable & inclusive mobility.

What is the SIGMI?

SIGMI stands for Sustainable Inclusive Global Mobility Initative and is an initiative about sustainable mobility that is implemented by Microenergy Systems and TU Berlin.

The Sustainable and Inclusive Global Mobility Initiative (SIGMI) aims to take a global micro-perspective on mobility and raise awareness about bottom-up and human-centric approaches in infrastructure development and transportation.

Through online events, the state of the art in different disciplines of scientific research in the field of sustainable mobility will be presented as well as inspiring research and practice projects. In participatory workshops, new initiatives will be developed by the participants.

The first event happened in November 2020 (for details click here). Soon the conference talks will be published as videos on this website.

Since 2013 the TU Berlin has implemented six research areas. SIGMI is closely linked to two of them: “Infrastructure and Mobility” and “Energy Systems and Sustainable Resource Management”.

The objective of SIGMI is to demonstrate that modern and sustainable mobility goes beyond the use of sustainable transport technologies such as electric cars, public transport, scooters and bikes. Research and activism in the field of mobility bear significant opportunities for emission reductions, improved living environments, participatory projects and the empowerment of local communities.
